“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

This is my husbands Christmas gift.  He had mentioned that he really liked it a few times to me while we were strolling in World Market.  He was drawn to the message as (if you knew my husband) this is how he lives his life every. single. day.

So I decided with my I CAN DO THAT artist mentality I would make my very own.  The wood is from a fence we took down.  I simply typed the words on the computer, had them enlarged at a local copier store, and used spray adhesive to adhere them to contact paper.  Next, I cut out each individual letter (slightly maddening)  and stuck it on the wood.  Next came my favorite part:  paint!  Layers and layers of antique white, sage green, a smidge of yellow and brown.  I took the letters off to reveal the wood underneath and used sand paper until I got just the right look.

Keeping true to the statement, I didn’t wait until Christmas to give it.  I gave it to him the second I was done with it, partly because I was so excited to give it and partly because I was living NOW.

Live your life now, not tomorrow…..enough said.
